The House of Avicenna at Cooper Green Mercy Hospital provides mental health treatment to older adults. This inpatient service is geared for those 65 years and older with life issues such as grief, depression, anxiety, dementia, and other related problems. The House of Avicenna is a 14 bed unit providing 24 hours, 7 days a week, quality, cost-effective inpatient psychiatric services. With special attention to the individual needs of the patient, our team provides care and treatment designed to maximize their daily functioning and to assess their current living situation. Our staff is able to provide referral information and assist with alternative placement as appropriate. Our daily program is flexible and allows the patient time for individual leisure as well as group and individual activities.
