Peri-Operative Services (Surgery)
The Surgical Section (operating rooms) at Cooper Green Mercy Hospital consists of eight (8) surgical suites. Our primary goal:
- To deliver quality surgical care to Jefferson County residents without regard to ability to pay
- The population served varies in age from 14 years and up
- Emergency Services provided 24 hours per day, 7 days per week
- Services offered are:
- General surgery (abdominal and thoracotomy)
- Some CV (cardiovascular) procedures
- Orthopedic procedures (ranging from trauma to elective joint replacements)
- ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) procedures (minor and major)
- GYN (Gynecological) procedures (open and laparoscopic)
- Ophthalmology (cataract extraction to corneal transplants)
- Elective Cases scheduled 7:00 am - 5:00 pm five (5) days a week
