Meal Services

DIETARY DEPARTMENT

The Dietary Department, a vital part of Cooper Green Mercy Hospital, provides nutritional care for patients, visitors and staff.  

Cooper Green Mercy Hospital's employees of the Dietary Department  promote a high quality of services,  completed the Food Safety Training Class and are certified Food Handler.

Services provided are:

Ø      Patient Assessment

Ø      Diet Counseling

Ø      Patients & Family Education

Ø   Community Outreach

Ø      Recommendations for TPN

Ø      Recommendations for Enteral Nutrition Support

Ø      Preceptor – Dietetic Interns

 

Nutrition Classes offered:

Ø      Diabetes Education

o       Tuesday (weekly) 10:30pm

o       Thursday (weekly) 1:30pm

 

Ø      Heart Healthy / Weight Loss

o       Wednesday (weekly) 9:00am

 

The Dietary Department operates seven (7) days per week between the hours of 5:00am through 7:30pm.

 

Patient’s meal hours are:

Ø      Breakfast – 7:00am

Ø      Lunch -     11:00am

Ø      Dinner         5:00pm

Ø      Snacks are provided between meals.

 

The Cafeteria is open Monday through Friday

Ø      Breakfast             8:30am to 10:00am

Ø      Lunch                 11:30am to 1:30pm

Ø      Dinner                  5:30 to 6:30pm

               Open to the Public

 

The Dietary Department is managed by Jerdine E. Bronson, Chief Dietitian
